“Milk Bottle”

“Milk Bottle” is another in my White Things Series and is painted in oil on 6″x6″ panel. This piece was a bit tricky because the bottle is a ceramic surface and not highly reflective. I really had to push the highlights to portray the surface and not have it look stagnant.

“Milk Bottle” pairs great with my “Eggs” oil painting! I like to decorate in the Farm House style even though I live at the lake so I’m often torn as to what to decorate with. My kitchen is farm house style and the rest of the house is lake themed. Is that weird of me?

“Milk Bottle” is framed in black with a silver liner. The watermark is not on the painting.

Pine cone and Acorns with a splash of Tinsel!

I just love this time of year and using nature as a decorating theme! Pine cones, acorns and the tinsel on the Christmas tree are some of my favorite things. In fact, I was inspired to paint some miniature oil paintings with these subjects, and I use them as part of my holiday decor.  I hope your  holiday planning is going well and you are enjoying this time of year! I’ll be sharing more Christmas paintings this week. 🙂

Blue Morning Glory

This week has been a busy one with varnishing and framing paintings. This little Blue Morning Glory painting is one of my favorites.

It looks fabulous in its walnut toned frame!

Blue Morning Glory

This past weekend, I transplanted my Morning Glory seedlings into hanging baskets. I saw an idea on Pinterest to grow Morning Glories in hanging baskets and let the vines cascade down. It makes a stunning display of color! Last year I grew the flowers on a trellis in the garden but they were too close to the fence and the deer ate the vines, leaving me with nothing! This year I’m outsmarting them and growing my favorite blue flowers hanging from our top decks, 20′ in the air! Take that deer!

Here’s a few of my favorite Morning Glory paintings:

I’m looking forward to creating some more Morning Glory floral paintings this year! And, if you’re on Pinterest follow me and of course I’ll follow back!
